In COVID-19 Updates

Dear CHA Family,

In follow up to Dr. Hertzberg’s message of March 21, the following is an update regarding some school events, operations, and community life.

While we are still unaware of any immediate members of the CHA family who have tested positive for COVID-19, we do know of the growing impact to friends and family, both physically and financially. We continue to monitor all government and health department orders and recommendations, and we will continue to communicate with you in a timely manner, as conditions may change.

Please note these recent scheduling decisions made by the Administration:

  • Financial Aid Deadline – Moved back to Thursday, April 30.
  • Enrollment Confirmation Deadline – Moved back to Thursday, April 30. However, if you are in a position to confirm enrollment, please do so as soon as possible. Please know, your $125 deposit will be applied to next year’s tuition if you confirm by April 30.
  • Activities and events related to the school (music, theater, athletics/class activities) continue to be postponed while our campus is not open.
  • Parent/Teacher Conferences – will take place as scheduled on Thursday, April 9 and Tuesday, April 14. However, conferences will take place via phone call, with the teacher calling parents at the scheduled time and to the phone number provided by the family when selecting the time through Pickatime.

We continue to review guidance from the State Board of Education (ISBE). For now, Governor Pritzker has closed all schools through Tuesday, April 7.

Obviously, the government may continue to make decisions of impact to CHA in terms of when we are cleared for school to resume on campus. In the meantime, eLearning will continue. We believe the Lord will continue to establish our steps as we move forward in faith. We anticipate sharing another update with you on Monday, March 30, or sooner if warranted.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or a particular staff member with any questions you may have. We thank you sincerely for your continued prayers.

Unified in Christ,

Stuart Davis
Vice Principal
