In COVID-19 Updates, Dr. Hertzberg's Blog

Dear CHA Families:

I want to briefly update you on several important items for your information. A more detailed update will be emailed to you on Monday. March 30.

First, as planned, eLearning resumes this Monday morning, and will continue until at least through Tuesday, April 7 per the Governor’s “shelter in place” mandate.

Second, our COVID-19 Task Force will meet by video conference this Monday morning to discuss and decide several important items, including what date we anticipate when classes will resume in our building. Given the evolving nature of this crisis, it may well be a date that will need to be adjusted in the future.

Third, please be in prayer for members of our school community who have very recently tested positive for COVID-19. It is believed that the infected persons were exposed after our campus closed on March 13. Per CDC recommendations, any person thought to have been exposed to COVID-19 whether at church, school, office, playground, grocery store, etc., should self-quarantine for 14 days from the time of possible exposure. Please contact your medical professional if you or your children show any symptoms. One Glenview doctor stated this week: “COVID-19 is all around us in this area” which is why we all need to continue to shelter in place.

In these days of challenge and opportunity, I have been drawing comfort and strength from Psalm 91 and commend it to your family especially verses 4-6:

“He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge, his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that waits at noonday.” (Psalm 91:4-6)

Faithfully His and yours,
Dr. Hutz H. Hertzberg
