In COVID-19 Updates, Dr. Hertzberg's Blog

Dear CHA Families:

Welcome “back” from Spring Break! I know it was very different than what all of us were anticipating and looking forward to. However, God knew long before any of our planning, that He had a very different plan for our spring break. We can take comfort and solace in His total sovereignty over all things, including the coronavirus.

As promised, I am sending an update concerning the projected date for classroom learning to resume at CHA. Our COVID-19 Task Force met this morning to discuss the latest guidance from the authorities including President Trump’s very recent extension on social distancing now through April 30. As a result, our revised projected date of resuming classroom learning is Monday, May 4. Please keep in mind that this date is subject to change as further restrictions and mandates from the authorities are issued.

Additionally, all scheduled CHA events and activities up through May 3 are necessarily postponed (and in some cases will have to be cancelled). We will keep you informed.

eLearning will continue through Friday, May 1, except on the scheduled Holy Week Holidays (Good Friday, April 10 and Easter Monday, April 13) and for the Parent-Teacher Conferences on Tuesday, April 14. Also, we are working on some virtual prayer gatherings and even virtual chapel services. We will keep you posted on these opportunities.

I hope you have been able to take a few minutes to view the “Welcome Back” videos that went out earlier today. As I said in my video greeting, let us pray that this “severe mercy” of coronavirus will have a “glacier” effect where the terrain of our hearts are permanently altered, as well as the hearts of our neighbors and friends. Please continue to pray that both Christian and non-Christians would cry out to our Lord as never before that we may see true lasting revival in our country, community and school.

Sincerely in Christ,

Dr. Hutz H. Herzberg
