A Faithful Witness

Our theme verses for this school year are taken from Hebrews 12:1-2:

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfector of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Of course these powerful verses follow Hebrews 11, sometimes referred to as “God’s Hall of Fame of Faithfulness.” The men and women cited in Hebrews 11 are all commended for their faith in God, looking forward to the promise of Jesus Christ. In many cases, these individuals suffered great persecution and hardship, yet persevered in their faithfulness. In Hebrews 12, we are told that they are “witnesses” and we should look to them as examples to follow.

This Parents Page edition marks the last edition that Laurie Peterson will send out. Earlier this summer Laurie shared with our CHA leadership that she and her husband, Norm, are retiring to the greater Fort Wayne, Indiana area, to be closer to their immediate family.

Laurie Peterson

For the past 18 years, Laurie has served as CHA Registrar and more. And like the faithful men and women mentioned in Hebrews 11, she serves as an example to all of us of running her race with faithfulness, going above and beyond what was required of her. Her direct and indirect support of both faculty and parents is immeasurable. Her commitment to Godly excellence and genuine personal care for others has been inspiring to all.

Laurie will be greatly missed by all of us at CHA and the multiple hundreds who have been previously touched by her life. Her investment is an eternal one and is never lost – captured and rewarded by our Lord for all eternity.

God bless and thank you Laurie. You are forever a part of the CHA family. We are always grateful for you.
