CHA Students Place in State Academic Challenge Competition

On April 22nd, several CHA Upper School students traveled to Eastern Illinois University to participate in the State Academic Challenge competition (ACES). This is the academic competition that replaced the former WYSE (Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering) competition. CHA had previously competed at the sectional (2nd place team) and regional competitions (1st place team) and advanced to the state competition.
We commend all our students for their efforts and are happy to announce these results.
- Jordan Pfeiffelman (Junior) and Jacob Elafros (Junior) – tied for 1st place in Engineering Graphics
- Olivia Chung (Senior) – 5th in Engineering Graphics
- Megan Ng (Sophomore) – 5th place in English
- Caroline Chung (Sophomore) – 6th place in English
Mrs. Wendy Skotnikov stated, “At the state level it is very competitive and students take college-level tests in various subject matters. Schools with an enrollment of 300 or less from across the state attended and I’m happy to announce that our team of 9 students represented CHA well. I’m so proud of our students for their efforts and give glory to God for it all.”
Congratulations to the entire ACES Team: Paul Gavrilovici (not pictured), Curtis Thomas (not pictured), Megan Ng, Olivia Chung, Caroline Chung, Rachel Kim, Andrew Kim, Jordan Pfeiffelman, Jacob Elafros.
