About CHA’s Music Programs

At Christian Heritage Academy we believe that music is an integral part of our spiritual and educational formation. The music department exists to encourage students to explore their God-given talents as well as develop a heart of worship. We offer general music (K-5) and instrumental and choral opportunities (3-12).

In general music, students learn the foundations of music literacy, audiation, and movement, along with the playing of basic instruments. We cultivate attitudes of worship and emphasize using our voices and bodies to praise the Lord.

At CHA, all students in fourth grade and above have the opportunity to learn a band instrument and participate in a school band ensemble. Students in our instrumental ensemble will grow in their skills through their high school education as well as collaborate with their peers to create music and develop their own self-expression.

Beginning in third grade, students can be involved in the choral program where they will not only sing as an ensemble, but begin to explore the complexities of vocal music. Choral ensembles provide students with the opportunity to perform music from various genres and time periods, continually building their skills. The choral program places a heavy emphasis on performing for the glory of God and cultivating intentional community within the ensemble.

About CHA’s Music Programs

At Christian Heritage Academy we believe that music is an integral part of spiritual and educational formation. The Music Department exists to encourage students to explore their God-given talents as well as develop a heart of worship. We offer general music (K-5), Middle School music electives, as well as instrumental and choral groups for students at all school levels (Lower, Middle, and Upper).

In general music, students learn the foundations of music literacy, audiation, and movement, as well as how to play basic instruments. We cultivate attitudes of worship and emphasize using our voices and bodies to praise the Lord. Middle School electives focus on specific methods of expression and provide opportunities for exploration beyond traditional music ensembles.

At CHA, all students in fourth grade and above have the opportunity to learn a band instrument and participate in a school band ensemble with multiple performances. Students in our Instrumental program will grow in their abilities through their high school education as well as collaborate with their peers to create music and develop their own self-expression.

Beginning in third grade, students can be involved in the Choral program where they will not only sing as an ensemble, but begin to explore the complexities of vocal music. Choral ensembles provide students with the opportunity to perform music from various genres and time periods, continually honing their abilities. The choral program places a heavy emphasis on performing for the glory of God and cultivating intentional community within the ensemble. There are multiple performance opportunities for students to share their gifts and work.
