Dear CHA Community:

In light of the announcement yesterday that the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has officially changed the quarantine time for persons exposed to COVID (see IDPH guidance and rationale here), we are adjusting the beginning of the 2021 Spring Semester by one day:

The Spring Semester will now officially begin on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 (instead of Tuesday, January 5, 2021).

This adjustment of one day will allow families who choose to join with relatives over the Christmas weekend the full ten-day quarantine period before returning to school on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.

It will still be necessary for all to follow the COVID safety guidelines, not only during the Christmas weekend but during the entirety of the break. Should any COVID-like symptoms present over Christmas break, please contact your healthcare provider as well as our Health Services Office via email anytime (nurse@christianheritage.org), or by phone beginning Monday, January 4 (847-446-5252).

Because of the new IDPH guidelines, CHA has revised our quarantine policy for students with known COVID exposure. Please take a moment to read our policy update.

We are so thankful for this blessed Advent season allowing for primary focus on our Lord Jesus Christ. May His praise fill your heart this Christmas as we safely celebrate our Savior with our families and loved ones.

Rejoicing in Christ,

Dr. Hutz H. Hertzberg
President
