In COVID-19 Updates, Dr. Hertzberg's Blog

Dear CHA Families:

Thank you for your support as we transitioned to eLearning this week. The feedback has been very positive including some helpful suggestions. Our wonderful teachers and staff worked diligently and expeditiously making virtual learning possible for all our students.

Though now working remotely, our school leadership is in regular communication including by video conferencing on a daily basis. We continue to monitor very closely the guidance and directives coming out from multiple sources including the Governor, the Illinois State Board of Education and from the Association of Christian Schools International.

Yesterday, Illinois Governor Jay Pritzker, mandated that all schools In Illinois are to be closed until April 8. It is likely that this order will be will be extended by the Governor, but not a certainty. We will continue to monitor this closely over this spring break period. On Monday, March 30, we will further update you as to the revised target date for classes to resume in our building. In the meantime, eLearning will resume on Monday, March 30.

Though this spring break will be different than what all of us anticipated, let us not miss God’s sovereign hand over the coronavirus trial, nor miss what He desires to teach each of us in it. And together let us continue to show forth the love and light of Christ to our friends and neighbors.

Dr. Hutz H. Hertzberg

PS: We are planning to carry on with Parent-Teacher conferences (Thursday, April 9 and Tuesday, April 14) but in a different way. Mr. Stuart Davis will be sending you a separate communique soon regarding the revised format for these conferences. Additionally, in light of the current situation, we have adjusted several important deadlines which will also be included in his message.
