Fines and Overdues Guidelines
2019-2020 School Year
For overdue books, students and parents are charged a late fine of $0.05 per day that each book is late. (Fines are not charged over weekends or days that school is not in session.) That fine continues to accumulate until the books are returned. Once the book has been returned, families are responsible for paying the total fine. Families will be notified about the fine and about overdue books by a paper slip that is sent home with their student(s). The paper slips will be sent home at least once a month.
If families have not paid their overdue fines by the end of each quarter (for Q1-Q3), the fine will be added to their student’s tuition bill.
Students and parents are responsible for returning their books on time. If a book is not returned on its due date, it can be renewed up to three times. After that third renew, or if the student or parent fails to contact the library to renew their book, the book will be considered overdue, and a late fine will start accumulating.
If the overdue book has not been returned to the library by the end of each quarter (for Q1-Q3), the full cost of purchasing and shipping the book will be added to the student’s tuition bill.
Note: Overdue books which share a due date with the end-of-the-quarter date will be rolled over into the next quarter (except for at the end of the year).
Note for Q4 : All of the above guidelines apply, except the due date for quarter 4 will be one week before the end of the quarter.
