Parent Involvement

Parent involvement is recognized as having a critical effect upon the quality of a child’s educational experience, and our parents are actively involved in classroom support and extracurricular activities. We are also a parent-governed school, with school parents serving on the Board and various commissions and committees.

The generous volunteer spirit of dedicated parents has been a consistent theme in CHA’s history. After-school enrichments, fundraising, interscholastic sports, field trips, class parties, drama/musical programs, Lion’s Pride Chorus, and many school events are enhanced and made possible by parent volunteer support. CHA families are encouraged to serve on a team at least one Saturday morning per year helping with light projects to help maintain our facility. Parents are also encouraged to support CHA’s Annual Fund at any level beyond required tuition amounts.

Parent Volunteer Organization (PVO)

PVO, an organization made up of CHA parents, works to foster fellowship, encouragement and a culture of serving among the CHA community. With the motto, “Serve the Lord with gladness,” (Psalm 100:2), the PVO Leadership Team meets monthly to coordinate many aspects of volunteering and support, including the the compilation of all of the schools volunteer opportunities into the Volunteer Guide & Sign Up publication; organization of Room Parents and Classroom Prayer Coordinators; and various fundraising efforts such as Boxtops for Education, Campbell’s label collections and Innisbrook wrapping paper sales.

Get Involved!

Parents receive a “Volunteer Opportunities Guide” listing hundreds of opportunities to serve. Every parent is needed to participate, with a special invitation for new parents to get involved. Parents may sign up for one-time events or ongoing opportunities such as lunchroom volunteers or classroom assistants. Fellowship among parents from various communities and churches creates a rich and vibrant community as volunteers team up to support CHA.
