After a two-set win over #4 seeded Beacon Academy in the IHSA Regional Finals following a noteworthy upset over #1 seeded Willows Academy in the Regional Semifinals, the newly-established (and #7 seeded) CHA Lions Girls’ Volleyball Team claimed the title IHSA Class 1A Regional Champions.

Coach Jeff Cook spoke of the Lions’ solid teamwork in this exciting, inaugural season. “I’ve loved the way our girls have come together. They stay focused and encourage one another. They don’t get down on each other like some teams do,” he said.

One of the benefits of a team the size of the Lions is that all of the players have an opportunity to contribute. “All of the girls were able to get in during the winning finals’ game, and all of them made a positive impact,” Cook said.

Now on a 12-game winning streak, the Lions move up next to the IHSA Sectional Semifinals on Monday, November 1, 5:30 PM, at Westminster Christian in Elgin. They will take on Aquin Catholic (Freeport) in their quest to move forward in the competition.

Come cheer on this group of dedicated athletes who exude excellent sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and teamwork! Tickets are $6 and must be purchased in advanced through this link.
