Giving Thanks with a Grateful Heart
By almost any measure, last week was a very special week at Christian Heritage Academy. There is so much to be encouraged by and give thanks for. including a fun Spirit Week, Saturday’s Upper School Hoedown, the senior class students leading a meaningful time of prayer at “See you at the Pole” on Wednesday, and even a completely positive audit by our financial auditors!
But certainly the highlight was our all school chapel service with Keith and Kristyn Getty on Thursday. One of our senior faculty members described the chapel service as “spectacular” and “unprecedented!”
After the chapel service, Kristyn met with all of our music students and faculty answering many excellent questions. One of our music faculty members commented, “The session was so helpful for our students. I have no doubt that the whole event was life-changing and will stick with many of our students.”
Keith Getty spoke to approximately 50 invited church pastors and leaders over a special luncheon that we hosted. The focus of the time was understanding the critical importance of congregational singing in the life of the Christian and in church worship. Many pastors, including some new to our school, were profoundly grateful that CHA provided this excellent opportunity.
The words of another faculty member perhaps best summed up the blessing of this special day saying, “…what a soul-enriching day…the worship at chapel, the student session with Kristyn, the pastors’ luncheon where Keith shared his heart and vision…the entire day drew my heart in thanks to God!”
As much as we give thanks for God’s blessing on this past week, there is so much ahead for your prayers and involvement including the following:
Friday – Men’s Prayer at 6:45 AM in the Lobby
Monday – Parents’ Prayer at 8:30 AM in the Chapel
Next Thursday – Fall Association Meeting at 7:00 PM in the Student Center
Next Friday – Fall Tour Day at 8:30-11:30 AM
Additionally, tickets for the very special “Sing – An Irish Christmas” concert featuring Keith and Kristyn Getty, here at CHA on December 15th, go on sale Monday, October 9th. Tickets will be available for purchase on our CHA website for $50 per person.
