In CHA Central

Congratulations to CHA senior Megan Ng, who has been awarded Honorable Mention in the 2021 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) All-State Academic program.

The All-State Academic qualifying nominees came from each of the over 800 member high schools in Illinois. These student athletes had to possess a minimum 3.50 grade point average on a 4.0 scale after their 7th semester, have participated in at least two IHSA sponsored activities during each of the last two years of high school, and have demonstrated outstanding citizenship.

Given the changes to the high school sports and activities schedule caused by the pandemic, students remained eligible for the All-State Academic Team if they had planned to participate in their sport or activity. Nominations were evaluated by a committee made up of IHSA principals, athletic directors, and activities directors.

Ng has been playing basketball for seven years, and is a varsity volleyball player, as well. She also holds the title of 2021 National Merit Finalist. These awards speak to her commitment as both a scholar and an athlete.

Athletic Director Jeff Cook, said, “Megan’s accomplishments on the court or field and in the classroom are epitomized by the latest honor bestowed on her by the IHSA. This is an outstanding honor for an outstanding young woman. The entire Christian Heritage community applauds Megan’s accomplishment.”

Megan’s college plans are yet to be determined, but she is considering studying physical therapy or business. There is no doubt that Megan will bring the same dedication and work ethic to her future ambitions that she has shown during her time at CHA.

Fun Fact: The Lady Chargers’ record over the past several seasons is 42-2!
