Administration
CHA is led by incredible administrators who care deeply about children and their education. Our Principals and Head of School are all former teachers, each with over a decade of teaching tenure, who understand and care about the school all the way through to the daily student experience. Each serves our students directly as mentors, coaches, speakers, or sometimes even classroom teachers. Our administrators aren’t here for a job; they see leadership at CHA as a calling.
Board of Directors
- The Christian Heritage Academy Board of Directors is the governing body of the school. The nine to fifteen Board members annually elect officers to serve as Chairperson, Vice Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary. Members of the Board may also serve as chairs and members of various committees and commissions.
- The Head of School attends all meetings of the Board of Directors and works closely with the Board, functioning ex-officio as executive adviser and administrative leader of the school.
- All actions of the Board, committees, and the Association are subject to applicable laws and state mandates as applicable to private schools. CHA's Bylaws and specific policies can be provided upon request through the CHA Office.
CHA’s Bylaws spell out the primary functions of the Board: The affairs, business and all legal matters of the Corporation shall be managed by its Board of Directors, including responsibility for strategic planning, policy making, fundraising, budget oversight, spiritual leadership and directing the Head of School. The Board of Directors shall help set the spiritual tone for the school. Members of the Board of Directors shall individually and corporately pray for the administration, faculty, staff, parents and children of the school. They will be inclined to prayer, ever mindful of their own dependence upon God for His grace and wisdom manifest in their leadership.
The Board of Directors meets regularly to review the direction and accomplishments of CHA and to act in accordance with the school’s Bylaws. Committees of the Board, chaired by a current Board member, may act on behalf of the Board. Commissions and task forces established by the Board and/or Head of School are advisory groups and provide recommendations for review and consideration.
CHA Association
All current CHA parents, administrators, full-time and part-time faculty, and full-time staff are automatically members of the Christian Heritage Academy Association. Key responsibilities of the Association include the election of nominated candidates to the Board of Directors, approval of the annual budget, and other matters as they may arise. Members of the Association may serve on various committees and commissions as established by the Board of Directors.
The Association typically meets twice per year (fall and spring) when the Board of Directors reports on the state of the school and brings items before the Association for their vote. Christian Heritage Academy recommends that all employees and at least one parent per household attend the Association meetings.
