Lower & Middle School
Our dedicated K-8 School Counselor adeptly guides students facing challenging social or emotional situations, imparting invaluable insights grounded in biblical principles. Whether through individual sessions or group interactions, the counselor diligently assists students in navigating their challenges with grace and wisdom. Our counselor also conducts engaging monthly social emotional learning (SEL) sessions in K-8 classrooms, covering a spectrum of crucial topics, including peace-making, safety, and healthy boundaries. Our curriculum also includes a Middle School orientation class to help 6th graders adapt to the changes and challenges of Middle School.
Upper School
The Upper School counseling services support the emotional and social needs of students through preventative support, interventions, consultation, and referral. Topics such as emotional well-being (e.g., transitioning to a new grade or school, stress management, coping with feelings, body-image, grief and loss), relationships (e.g., friendships, family transitions, peer pressure, social skills, conflict resolution), academics (e.g., time-management, test-taking, education planning), and career exploration (e.g., self-awareness, interest exploration, decision-making) are addressed in both individual meetings with the counselor and through social-emotional lessons in the classroom.
