Mr. Joseph Torgerson graduated from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN, with a history degree, and he earned his Master’s in Education at the University of Missouri. After teaching high school humanities for nine years at college preparatory schools in St. Louis, MO, and Taiwan, he became a K-12 school principal at an international school in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Upon moving back to the United States, Mr. Torgerson spent two years doing Ph.D. coursework and working in Student Life at Trinity University in Deerfield, IL. He began serving as CHA’s Middle & Upper School Principal in July of 2021.

He and his wife have three children, and he loves athletics, outdoor adventures, music, and board games. Mr. Torgerson grew up in Hong Kong as the son of missionary parents, and he is always ready to eat dim sum.
