Christian Heritage Academy is pleased to announce that senior Alex Lee has been recognized as a National Merit Scholarship Finalist by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). This prestigious honor is awarded to approximately 15,000 students nationwide who demonstrate exceptional academic promise.
The rigorous selection process for National Merit Scholarship Finalist status involves a comprehensive evaluation of the student's academic achievements, including the breadth and depth of their coursework, the level of difficulty of their classes, and the grades they have earned. Additionally, consideration is given to their performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), a personal essay, documented leadership roles and contributions to both the school and the wider community, and a recommendation provided by a school official. It is anticipated that approximately half of the Finalists will be selected to receive National Merit Scholarships.
In addition to this significant achievement, Alex has also earned recognition as an Illinois State Scholar and an AP Scholar, further highlighting her commitment to academic excellence.
Alex has been attending Christian Heritage Academy since entering 7th grade. Throughout her Upper School years, she has actively participated in various extracurricular activities, including serving on the student council, the publicity committee, the tech crew, and the worship team. She has also contributed her time and talents as a tutor and as a member of the National Honor Society. Alex attends Cityline Bible Church.
Looking ahead, Alex plans to pursue a career in the health sciences, with an initial focus on a pre-med track at the University of Illinois, Baylor University (Texas), or Case Western Reserve University (Ohio). Guided by her faith, Alex is prayerfully considering the path God has for her future. Her Christian Heritage Academy family is confident that her dedication and talents will enable her to make a meaningful impact in the world no matter where she goes!
