Christian Heritage Academy sophomore Maddie Padar has been selected from a highly competitive nationwide pool of high school candidates for the UChicago 2025 Summer Immersion Program. She will attend classes on the campus of the University of Chicago and earn college credit while studying Mathematical and Computational Research in Biological Sciences.
Maddie was selected based on the difficulty level of her past and present coursework, her grades and standardized test scores, extracurricular activities and volunteer work, and personal letters of recommendation from her teachers. Maddie and her family give a special thank you to Mrs. Ramona Mihulet and Dr. Callie Kindt for encouraging and supporting Maddie in her passion for all things STEM related!
While Maddie is only nearing the halfway point of her high school career, she has begun her college search and looks forward to potentially pursuing a career in biomedical engineering. She believes that integrating her passion for math and science with the medical field could be an impactful way to make a difference in the world with the gifts God has given her.
Congratulations, Maddie!
